Question: Thanks for all the True Blood casting news! Do you have any other scoop on season 3? –JKH
Ausiello: It’s happening: Lafayette is getting a boyfriend! A True insider tells me that Alan Ball is quietly searching for a sexy Latino actor in his 30s to play a lust interest for everyone’s favorite same-gender-lovin’ blood dealer. (Over the summer, Ball confirmed that viewers would see a more “vulnerable” Lafayette in season 3.) Got casting tips? Head to the comments! Here’s one to get you started: Um, Adam Rodriguez, hello.

Question: I was wondering if Zack was going to show up in Bones‘ 100th episode. –Cole
Ausiello: Funny, I was wondering the same thing. So I did some digging and here’s what I turned up: If the scheduling can be worked out, yes, Eric Millegan will appear in the 100th episode. But that’s a big if. (Actually, it’s more of a medium if.)

Question: Got any new Chuck scoop for Chuckmas? –Clauds
Ausiello: I just watched the first three episodes and they’re — no surprise here — aces. The first hour in particular is top-to-bottom sensational. Here are some random spoilery highlights, broken down by episode:
Episode 1 (Jan. 10 @ 9 p.m. ET)
* A recurring character dies.
* We learn that a recurring character is a closeted Wilson Phillips fan.
* The first two items may be connected.
* The action picks up *** months later.
* Shockingly, there’s not a Subway 6-inch in sight.
Episode 2 (Jan. 10 @ 10 p.m. ET)
* Sarah’s spy buddy Carina returns.
* We catch a rare glimpse of Morgan’s huge **e**e* collection.
* Morgan has *e**** **t********!
* Shockingly, there’s not a Subway 6-inch in sight.
Episode 3 (Jan. 11 @ 8 p.m. ET)
* Big episode for Ryan McPartlin’s Awesome.
* An even bigger episode for Ryan McPartlin’s awesome chest, abs, and biceps.
* Shockingly, there’s not a Subway 6-inch in sight.
* This has nothing to do with episode 3, but I promised I’d get this in: Anyone going to Chuckfest 2010?!

Question: I need a Friday Night Lights scoop! –Dave
Ausiello: A major character is going to get arrested.

Question: Any news about Jennifer Morrison returning to House? –@Sarrie5
Ausiello: I don’t see it happening, unfortunately. Not only will she be tied up on Broadway until at least the spring, but a source tells me that Morrison has been taking pilot meetings. I think it might be time to — don’t pistol-whip the messenger! — move on.

Question: A little Gossip Girl scoop would make my Christmas wishes come true! –Kirstie
Ausiello: Shortly after the show returns in March, Dan + Vanessa + mojitos = Ay Caramba!

Question: Got any scoop on who Brandon Quinn is playing in Vampire Diaries‘ Jan. 21 episode? –Seth
Ausiello: According to Diaries boss Kevin Williamson, “He’s a vengeful guy with a score to settle with Damon.”

Question: All I want for Christmas is some Burn Notice scoop. Can you help me out? I’ve been a really good girl. –TJ
Ausiello: That’s a lie. According to my notes, you’ve been an absolute menace. Lucky for you I’m grading on a curve this year: A familiar face returns in the season 3 finale (airing March 4), and Michael is forced to make a choice that, per my source, puts him “in the most dangerous situation” he’s ever been in.

Question: I’m dying to find out what song Jane Lynch will be singing on Glee (Ask Ausiello 12/16). Can I please have a hint?
Ausiello: You can have two: 1. Gene Kelly and 2. Fred Astaire.

Question: I’m still reeling from the news that Nurse Jackie dumped Mo-Mo. Have you been able to find out why? –Nick
Ausiello: The closest thing to an explanation I could get was from Haaz Sleiman’s (a.k.a. Mo-Mo) rep, who said Jackie producers felt the character had run its course — which makes me wonder if the producers are watching the same show as the rest of us. The relationship between Jackie and Mo-Mo was a major draw for me. And having seen the first two episodes of season 2, I can tell you that Jackie is suffering without that dynamic. It’s actually one of several problems I had with these episodes, which, in my opinion, are the weakest Jackie installments to date. The stakes don’t seem as high, the writing isn’t as sharp, and the chemistry between the characters feels off. And this is coming from someone who loved the first season. Of course, it’s only the first two episodes. Jackie can still bounce back.

Question: So you’ve just screened the first two episodes of Nurse Jackie. Got any info for us? –Jamie
Ausiello: Here’s something I did find amusing: Producers incorporated Peter Facinelli’s Twitter obsession into the show. Turns out that Dr. Coop has become what Jackie affectionately refers to as a “twittering f—ing d—khead.”

Question: When you say 24’s Renee has morphed into a female version of Dexter, what exactly do you mean? –Stefanie
Ausiello: She gets off on hurting bad people.

Question: Got a Medium scoop? –Craig
Ausiello: Joel Moore is returning as Joe’s boss Keith next month. “[Keith] has a little dramatic flair in the next episode [and] my character gets into a very funny situation,” Moore told us at last week’s Avatar premiere. “I think the regular viewers will appreciate it. It’s a lighter episode, but I think it is also the kind of episode that casual Medium viewers will enjoy.”

Question: What else can you tell me about the date between Beckett and Men in Trees‘ Scott Elrod on Castle. Does it go well? –Katie
Ausiello: Nope, it’s pretty much a disaster. Beckett ends up running into Castle, who just so happens to be on a date at the same restaurant. And the fact that his date was recently named one of New York’s most eligible bachelorettes only adds to the tension.

Question: Can you throw a Big Love spoiler my way? –Charlotte
Ausiello: Matthew Humphries (a.k.a. Supernatural’s Dixon from 2007’s “Fresh Blood”) has been cast as Ron Reed, the new face of the religious right. The org he works for is anti-gaming, so it’s safe to say he’ll do some head-butting with Bill.

Question: Any word on whether the amazing Tina Majorino will be reprising her role as Heather on Big Love this season? Surely they can’t just leave her storyline hanging like that. –Sophie
Ausiello: She returns in the second episode when bride-to-be Sarah asks her estranged BFF an important question. But what she asks her isn’t nearly as memorable as where she asks it. (Hint: It’s fast and will give you food for thought.)

Question: Riddle me something about How I Met Your Mother’s 100th episode. –Chad
Ausiello: I can confirm three things: Barney will suffer a devastating personal loss, we will finally see Ted’s baby-mama (but there’s a twist!), and the episode more than lives up to the hype.

Candy in Hawaii: Will Jenny get her knight in shining Armani? I've waited so long for Nate and Jenny to happen! Please, please tell me they will be a couple. I want them as my Christmas present!
Here's what I can tell you. According to my source: "Jenny definitely will try to steal Nate away" later this season, after Nate and Serena are more of a solidified couple. However, in what has been written so far, I'm told "Nate is resisting." That said, it certainly seems as though Jenny has fully embraced the dark side of her Machiavellian ways (will she be worse than Blair ever was?) because according to my mole, the whole Nate stealing is "going to be pretty underhanded by Jenny. Serena won't really suspect it for a bit." So let me get this straight: Little J has screwed over her stepbrother/former BFF and now her stepsister too?! Talk about a character 180 from the first season! Do we have a new Big Bad on the Upper East Side? Are producers trying to make us not like her? Thoughts?

Marlene in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.: Some Gossip Girl news please! Anything big coming up? Deaths? Hookups? Marriages?
Dorota is getting married! Pretty sweet, no? And now that two people very close to Blair have gotten hitched lately (first mom, now Dorota), she has to be next right? OK, probably not. But a girl can dream.

Uma via Twitter: The Big Bang Theory, please.
They weren't just robbed at the Golden Globe nominations (booo!), America's favorite brainiacs are going to be robbed in fake life, too. When BBT returns this January, Leonard and Sheldon's apartment will be ransacked, leading the gang to design a high-tech, state-of-the-art security system. Needless to say, things go awry.

Mike in Cincinnati: Why do I have to wait until February for more of The Office? What can you tell me right this second?
Dwight and Ryan are going full speed ahead with their plans to destroy the unstoppable Jim Halpert. We just caught up with B.J. Novak at the Inglourious Basterds DVD launch, and he tells us their plotting "will go exactly how you would expect a Dwight-Ryan alliance to go, and I won't say any more." Hmmm, so straight to the beet farm? We're guessing this won't be a very successful venture for Dwight and the temp.

Yasmine: I'm obsessed with Sue Sylvester on Glee! Thanks for the interview with Jane Lynch. She seems awesome in person, too. Did you get any scoop on what will happen after she returns from her suspension?
"Sue Sylvester does get humbled from time to time, and she will get humbled in the next nine episodes," Jane told me. Also, it sounds like we're gonna see more of her musical side: "I will be doing a little singing and a little dancing," she teased. Jane also mentioned that there are lines sometimes that she won't say. One of them involved skinning a cat. "I have cats!" she said. Heee.

Chen in Israel: Seems like the writers are listening and are realizing people find Puck/Rachel more interesting than Puck/Quinn and Finn/Rachel. Now can we do something about the fact the original club members like Artie and Tina never get any screen time? We haven't seen what happened to them after their date.
We will definitely see more Artie and Tina. I have it on good authority!

Megan in Knoxville, Tenn.: I read somewhere, more then likely here, that when One Tree Hill starts back in January, Haley's sister Taylor comes back and brings someone from past episodes with her. If this is true, any clues you can give as to who it is? Lucas? Peyton? Thanks!
Yep, that was here, and it is none of those characters but it is a boy. My source doesn't want me to say who yet, but it's someone's ex, and it's not a major character like Lucas or Peyton. I'll reveal it when this muzzle comes off!

Mose in Idaho: What's the word on Supernatural? Thanks for all the scoop last week.
No prob. I'm hearing that Sam and Dean will die and go to heaven. Yes, you heard me right. We will see heaven! (Which is funny 'cause I always assumed heaven would look a lot like Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.)

Joel in Burbank, Calif.: You barely mentioned Jeffster in your Chuck preview this week. I want some Jeffster!
You want more details on the rockingest band of all time? You got it! Jeff and Lester are both back in action, both as individuals and in musician form. Show runner Josh Schwartz tells us: "The Buy More has a fight club storyline where Lester really goes bananas. And obviously, you can expect and look forward to the return of Jeffster." In fact, probably more Lester than you'd ever want to know. "I promise this, we will see Lester's bedroom," says Josh. And Chris Fedak gives us the dirty deets: "You will see what Lester sleeps in, his pj's—and it involves feet." (Note to Chuck costumers: Where do you get those pj's?! My ginormously tall 8-month-old is already too big for most footed pj's, and he's still shorter than Lester...by a hair.)

Harry in Boston: Cannot wait for Chuck. Scoop please!
There's something going on beneath the Home Theater Room at the Buy More, and it is not just mental—it is governmental! (I'm hearing of a new secret passage from inside there.) Also, Chuck and Kristen Kreuk will be spotted there playing some serious tonsil hockey, i.e. "making out like teenagers," according to my spy. Sorry, Chuck and Sarah fans. But the good news is that Kristen's character is not what she seems, so like Jill before her, she cannot be long for Chuck's world.

Latest from Ausiello - 17th Dec

Question: The latest we’ve heard about Tony and Ziva on NCIS is Shane Brennan stating that their relationship will remain status quo. Please tell me they’re not ending Tiva? —Jamie
Ausiello: Strange. That seems to contradict what I’m hearing. According to my hairy NCIS mole, the Jan. 26 episode finds Tony and Ziva hopping a plane to the City of Love. That’s right, Tiva takes on Paris! And would you believe the hotel screws up their reservation and they end up sharing a room together? What are the odds?!

Question: Your Bones scoop last week was crap. The promos already gave away Booth’s nude scene. Got any legitimate scoop? —Barry
Ausiello: When the show returns on Jan. 14, someone must contend with a positive pregnancy test. Legitimate enough for you?!

Question: Could we have some Grey’s Anatomy scoop, please? —Katie
Ausiello: The show’s big flashback episode — slated to air in February or March — will reveal the toll Ellis’ demanding career (as well as her affair with Richard) took on a 4-year-old Meredith. There’s also buzz that the episode will show us Bailey’s days as a Seattle Grace intern and introduce us to the Nazi supervisor who schooled her.

Question: There is a rumor circulating that House has a twentysomething son and he’ll turn up in the season finale. Any truth to this? —Malinda
Ausiello: You mean the twentysomething son played by French actor/stuntman Sebastien Soudais? That’s what we in the biz call a full-of-crap rumor. It all got started when the role of “House’s son” suddenly appeared on his IMDB page. “I don’t know who did that,” Soudais tells me of the listing, which has since been removed. “I really like House, but I never would have made something like that up.” Ironically, I’m having the opposite problem. I’ve been trying for weeks to get my upcoming role as Cuddy’s BFF uploaded to my IMDB page but it won’t take. What am I doing wrong?

Question: Loving all the True Blood scoop! More, please! —Hayley
Ausiello: You got it: Roger Sterling’s Mad Men mama, Shannon Welles, has signed on to guest star in an early season 3 episode as a mysterious old woman who lives in the middle of nowhere.

Question: Did you watch your Big Love screener yet? Any scoop? —Rachel
Ausiello: Sadly, I probably won’t get around to watching it until the weekend. In the meantime, I was shocked and a little disturbed to find out that season 4 (debuting Jan. 10) is only nine episodes long! WTHHBO? Why so stingy? I’m not happy.

Question: Parks and Recreation just keeps getting better this season. The “hunting expedition” episode was probably the funniest so far. My one complaint: the woefully underused Paul Schneider (Mark). Any chance we’ll be seeing more of him in upcoming shows? —Nicolaus
Ausiello: “We have some big shifts for Mark during the second half of the season, career-wise and romantically,” reveals exec producer Mike Schur, adding that fans shouldn’t assume that a Leslie/Mark romance is inevitable. “We don’t necessarily have specific places we’re going with every different relationship. We just follow what’s interesting. I don’t think that the final chapter has been written in the Mark and Leslie saga, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re going to get together. It might just mean that the feelings bubble up in one way or another at some point.”

Question: It looks like the end is near for Numb3rs, so I best get this question in now: Got scoop? —Aimee
Ausiello: The procedural is getting some new [True] blood! Anna Camp, best known as TB’s clueless, two-timing preacher’s wife Sarah Newlin, is guest starring in a late January episode as a hooker named Siouxsie Dark. The plot finds Don and Co. on the prowl for a serial killer who’s targeting prostitutes. Carnivale’s Clea DuVall also appears as the sister of one of the murdered escorts.

Question: I looked at your midseason TV Cheat Sheet and I noticed that Lie to Me wasn’t mentioned. Does that mean that Fox didn’t order the “back-nine” episodes? —Ari
Ausiello: Look at you throwing around fancy industry lingo. Impressive. Less impressive is the fact that you totally missed my story last month confirming that Fox had indeed picked up the show’s back-nine. The reason it’s missing from the Cheat Sheet is because Fox has yet to assign a return date for the show. But it will return this Spring.

Question: Merry Christmas to me! I won the prize on Charity Buzz to tour your offices. I think I have read every word you’ve written since Lorelai and Rory came to life. It is such a treat for me to come to New York, meet you in person, and get a tour of the EW offices! —Amy
Ausiello: Yeah, about that… Turns out I’m going to conveniently unfortunately be out of the office the day you’re here. I feel absolutely terrible about this. If you’re interested, my colleague, Annie Barrett, has graciously agreed to meet you at the au bon pain across the street for coffee. Her treat. I’ll even make sure she brings you an autographed picture of me. And one more thing: Just kidding! The honest truth is I can’t wait for you to meet me. I’m also excited to see the look on your face when I give you the answer to this blind item. You are going to flip.

Question: Regarding The Mentalist, when will we learn what Bosco whispered into Jane’s ear just before he died? —Mike S.
Ausiello: Executive producers Bruno Heller and Ashley Gable refused to cough up that little detail. Instead, they coughed up something even better! “We can tell you that Jane’s explanation later in that episode — that Bosco told him to take care of Lisbon and it would haunt him if he didn’t — was a lie.” That is better, right?

Question: I heard that Scott Elrod, who played Cash on Men in Trees, is set to do an episode of Castle. Any idea what part he will be playing? —Kim
Ausiello: He’s Beckett’s new maybe-lover! Lainie fixes them up on a date, and she takes the bait. Seems only fair considering what that horndog Castle’s been up to.

Question: What’s the latest on Adrianne Palicki returning to Friday Night Lights? —Kathleen
Ausiello: Looks like it hit a snag. Scheduling issues with Red Dawn prevented her from making an appearance in season 4. But exec producer Jason Katims remains hopeful she’ll be back for the fifth and final season. “Her career is taking off,” Katims notes. “We’re hoping she has a break in her schedule and can come back. We would love her to.”

Question: Will East Dillon and West Dillon play each other this year on Friday Night Lights? —Joe
Ausiello: Yes. My money’s on West beating East 31-28. In other news, anyone notice what was sitting on Tami’s desk in last week’s episode? Hint: It was blue and white and… it’s the Smurf I gave her!

Question: Please could you give this late convert to Friday Night Lights some scoop. It’s fast becoming a healthy addiction. —Ann
Ausiello: E.P. Jason Katims says he hasn’t decided whether the fifth and final season will take place at the beginning of a new school year or pick up where season 4 leaves off. “Typically, we would start closer to the next school year because we generally sort of follow the football season,” he says. “But we haven’t really made a [a final decision]. What’s nice about the show is we’ve made slightly different choices from season to season, like coming back with the first game or coming back in the middle of summer. We’ve done a couple of radical time cuts over the course of the series.”

Question: For the record, I totally agree with your assessment of the Golden Globe nominations — Jim Parsons and John Noble are disgustingly absent and it makes me angry. Okay, so onto my question: I am dying for some Glee scoop since I have to wait until April for new episodes! —Sara
Ausiello: The phrase Best. News. Ever. gets used a lot around these parts, but this truly is the Best. News. Ever: Jane Lynch’s campaign to snag a musical moment on the show has ended in victory! “I have read the first two episodes [of the back-nine] and I can tell you that I will be singing and dancing,” Lynch reveals. “I can’t tell you what I’m singing because it’s top-secret.” Just a little hint? Teases Lynch: “It’s a very cold song.” We wouldn’t have it any other way!

Question: As the mother of an absolutely beautiful and wonderful daughter with Down syndrome, I was thrilled to see the characters of Becky and Sue’s sister in Glee’s “Wheels” episode. Any chance these characters will be back? —Cathy
Ausiello: “I hear that that will happen, yes,” confirms Jane Lynch of her TV sis’ return. “I haven’t read anything yet, but I heard that’s in the works for somewhere in the next nine episodes.”

Question: What do I have to do to get some How I Met Your Mother scoop around here? —Hannah
Ausiello: You have to simmah down nah and keep reading. Golden Globe nominee Neil Patrick Harris tells me that the musical number at the end of the 100th episode on Jan. 11 will demand repeat viewings. “There were so many great little things that we were able to put into each shot,” he says. “The song [titled "Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit"] happens so quickly that I think you’ll go back and go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, those mannequins in the background are actually humans that are moving.’ There are going to be a lot of those little things.”

Question: Please tell me it’s not really the end for Barney and Robin on How I Met Your Mother! —Daphne
Ausiello: Neil Patrick Harris isn’t convinced it is. “I think there are still feelings there,” he says. “I don’t know that it’s done.” Regardless, the romance — which he says was “supposed to be two maybe three episodes and it turned into seven” — served its purpose in that it humanized Barney. “At a certain point when you see someone who is just abhorrent week in and week out with his sexual conquests it’s nice to figure out what the Kryptonite is there,” he says. “Otherwise, [he] becomes a one-trick pony. So I’m glad that they fleshed him out a little bit. I also got to work with Cobie in a more serious nature. It was fun to do actual scenes with her as opposed to just being jokey.” What now? Does Barney just revert back to being a one-dimensional cad? “There’s no way to not go back to where he was pre-Robin,” he maintains. “That’s Barney Stinson in a nutshell. He suppresses all actual emotion and just plants his seed wherever he goes. Can I say that in EW? I meant it in a dirty way.” Actually, you can’t. I’ll let this one slide.

Question: When does Spartacus premiere on Starz? —Gary
Ausiello: Jan. 22. Here’s a little taste of what you can expect.

Question: Nate and Jenny in Gossip Girl — will it happen? —Adam
Ausiello: If Jenny gets her way it will.

Question: Is Renee Walker bad this season on 24? I’ve heard rumors that she is. —Stefanie
Ausiello: Depends how you define bad. She has essentially morphed into a female Dexter, so girlfriend’s definitely working through some demons.

Question: Friday’s Dollhouse was so awesome with Alan Tudyk. Please tell me he will come back before the end of the series? I need more Alpha! —Jess
Ausiello: He’s back in the series finale on Jan. 22.

Mega Buzz: Scoop on Grey's, 24, Southland and More!
[info]spoilertvgg

Any news on what's ahead for Cristina and Owen on Grey's Anatomy? — Lisa
ADAM:
If there's one thing we know about Dr. Yang, it's that her career always comes first. Has her time with Owen changed that? We'll find out when Cristina gets stuck with a very difficult decision that could drastically affect not only her future, but also one of her closest relationships.

I'm dying for 24 to start again. What will the new cast members be up to? — Cassandra
MICKEY:
You've probably heard Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) described as a mini-Jack, but I bet you haven't heard Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) described as a duplicitous liar. Now you have! Also: Jennifer Westfeldt's ambitious journalist will do anything for the story — including use those feminine wiles I've heard so much about.

I can't wait for the Southland premiere! What can we expect in the first new episode? — Sara
ADAM:
The first new episode, which should air sometime in March, will very quickly resolve the Season 1 cliff-hanger. The good news: Russell (Tom Everett Scott) survives being shot. The bad news: He may be in pretty bad shape, forcing Lydia (Regina King) to work with a new partner. "What happens to him is pretty devastating," creator Ann Biderman tells me. "His role changes in a way that's surprising. Lydia will face the challenge of what it's like to work without him. It's a big part of the next episodes."

To what degree will Chuck's new spy activities be public knowledge on this season of Chuck? — DTaub35
MICKEY:
Captain Awesome won't be the only person clued in to Chuck Bartowski's secret identity this season. "Some people might find out," Yvonne Strahovski tells us. "Somebody finds out from the family. Dramatic pause. Somebody else finds out. That's all I can say." (Yes, she said "dramatic pause.")

Is there any chance we'll see more Vance on NCIS: Los Angeles? — Marty
ADAM:
Rocky Carroll tells me that Vance's video check-ins are all he's expecting for now. "I like that Vance is not used in exactly the same capacity in both shows," Carroll says. But there is one particular way he'd like to get drawn into the L.A. mix. "I'm hoping that there's another case that's personal to Vance that makes him have to get on a plane and go to LA. Something that's part of his personal life, I think that would be great."

Are Gossip Girl's Rufus and Lily going to be able to last? — Jamie
MICKEY:
Executive producer Josh Schwartz, ever the romantic, lays out the odds. "I hope so, but it's Gossip Girl so no one is happy for long," he says. Does this mean that Rufus won't take the news of Lily's secret rendezvous with Serena's dad so well? There's a certain trophy wife out there who knows the answer.

I hate the idea of a Criminal Minds spin-off. Is there a way you can assure the fans that nothing is going to change and they won't steal writers and stories from the original? — Diane
ADAM:
Who am I, State Farm? I can't guarantee anything, but I can ask executive producer Ed Bernero to give it a shot. "The 19th episode [which could launch the spin-off] is going to be a Criminal Minds episode and you'll meet some new people," he says, downplaying the future possibilities. "We're focused on doing the best Criminal Minds episodes we can and introducing these new characters. And if it goes, it goes. We all really care about the first show."

I can't wait for Big Love to start again. Any scoop on the new season? — Gertie
MICKEY:
You'd think the big Big news would be that Bill and wives finally open a casino, but no! You see, at the same time that happens, Bill receives a higher calling: to run for office. I hear there's a prophet vacancy!

So, was Dexter's Season 4 finale as close as Deb will come to learning her brother's true secret of being a serial killer? — Will
Adam:
Nope. Not only did executive producer Sara Colleton say that the story line won't be dropped, she called it the biggest one of the series. When it will be resolved, however, is a mystery. But C.S. Lee (who plays Masuka) thinks it should be soon: "It has to happen in Season 5," he says. "That has to come to some sort of fruition and when that does... wow!"

Without revealing who dies, can you tell me how things will be different on Desperate Housewives in January? — Matt
MICKEY:
What goes around comes around, Matt, and in the wake of the Wisteria Lane tragedy, two Housewives will find themselves taking care of the men in their lives — with the help of qualified medical professionals, of course.

Any scoop on The Closer's Sharon Raydor? I really want to see her hook up with Will Pope. — Kelly
ADAM:
Closer creator James Duff kept quiet about a potential Raydor-Pope hookup, but he did say that Mary McDonnell and J.K. Simmons will share two big scenes. Duff was much more forthcoming about Raydor's interaction with Brenda. "[Brenda is] put into a very awkward position," he says. "She doesn't like having to help out Capt. Raydor. She takes her orders very literally — so literally that she's indirectly responsible for someone being shot."

Any 90210 scoop? — Melinda
MICKEY:
Remember how satisfying it was when Naomi finally got her revenge on her monstrous sister Jen? And then remember how sad you were at the departure of Sara Foster, the talented actress who plays the piranha-in-Prada? Well, fear not! Jen will be back, and her re-entry into the 90210-sphere is one of those improbable, only-on-TV developments that will make you chuckle. It will have a different effect on Naomi.

Here is the latest weekly SpoilerTV Cancellation Quotient table and the last one for 2009. We'll do a new one early in Jan 2010.

NOTE:We've changed the color coding slightly to make it easier to understand.. hopefully :) Any questions/errors please let me know in the comments.

I wonder which shows will be next on the chopping board? Three Rivers? Melrose Place? Numb3rs? Cold Case? Are Fringe and Heroes still in danger?

This index is by no means a 100% accurate guide about if your show is safe or in danger and should be seen as a bit of fun.

So how safe is your show? Sound off in the comments. Also if you spot any mistakes or have any questions please let me know in the comments.

<input ... >
Notes:
1) The Higher the number the more likely a show is to get cancelled and conversely the lower the number the safer it is.
2) Not all shows appear in the labels of this post due to a change Google implemented on blogger that only allows so many Labels.
3) This is an ongoing exercise that I hope to refine each week to make the index more accurate.
4) This is a weekly update of all the shows using our own formula based on the viewing numbers and some other factors such as Network, Day of Week, DVR Numbers and +7 numbers,DVD/Blu-Ray Sales, Syndication and Torrents etc to make our own SpoilerTV Cancellation Index.
5) Shows still might not get renewed despite good numbers due eg a show coming to an end of run eg ER had good numbers but had just run it's course etc or could be due to key cast wanting to leave after their contracts. An example might be Supernatural if it's two leads, Jared and Jensen wanted out, would Supernatural be renewed even if it had good numbers etc
6) New Shows that have been picked up for a Full Season are marked in Dark Green
7) Shows that have been renewed for a New Season are marked in Blue

Maurice in Pittsburgh: What the what? I just read Josh Schwartz's quote that Jenny and Chuck have something coming up on Gossip Girl. Please tell me Little J is not coming between Blair and Chuck. I'll die!
Your life is spared. An inside source tells me that Jenny and Chuck don't really have any big storylines together this season, so I'm assuming Josh meant Jenny will have a big storyline and Chuck will have a big storyline, but they are not the same storyline. Chuck's story involves the possible surprise return of his believed-to-be-dead mother (and Jack Bass), and Jenny's involves another couple she comes between...guesses?
Wanda Two Saints: Kristin, are you really not going to tell us who Jenny will be interfering with? That's low, even for you!
Only because I like old friends with bad glasses, I will reveal that Jenny is going to "get in between Nate and Serena," according to my rock-solid Gossip Girl source. We likey? We hatey? I'm thinking more of the latter...

Drew in St. Paul, Minn.: Has Serena's father been cast yet on Gossip Girl?
Not yet. But he's coming before the season ends.

Mark in San Luis Obispo, Calif.: I can't get enough Dexter! Still sick to my stomach thinking about that baby in the blood. Can you help?
Only to tell you that you are not alone. The castmembers were freaking out over the finale last night—even the man behind the very bad deed! "I still get chills up and down my spine even though I know what is going to happen," John Lithgow (Trinity) told us. "It is a very shocking finale. And it's nice because I don't have to be coy any more. All the secrets are out."

Gabby in Ocean Park, Calif.: I could have sworn something was going to happen with Masuka and Deb on Dexter this season. That episode where she took her shirt off and invited him to Thanksgiving. Wasn't there chemistry there?
C.S. Lee (Masuka) gives us this exclusive scoop: "I always thought that Debra and Masuka would get married, and—did I say too much? Well, season five, they're on their honeymoon in Barbados. Dexter's hanging out—he's trying to have a good time while he can. She's pregnant, and she thinks maybe it's Lundy's, but it's actually mine. Yeah, we're going to have three Dexter babies. It might be Dexter/Masuka now!" For the record, he is kidding. "Honestly, I don't know what happens next season. The writers haven't even figured out what's going to happen either, but if I was a writer, I would give Masuka maybe a date, maybe an affair, maybe a nice tropical island vacation somewhere. He does need a real romance...In a way, Masuka and Deb are kinda similar, so they would end up making a good couple. I'll tell [boss] Clyde Phillips and make sure the note makes it on his desk."

Mandy in New Jersey: Come on! Who dies in the Desperate Housewives plane crash?
We can't tell you that yet, but we can tell you that one of the causalities is a husband who finds himself paralyzed and becomes quite the little household tyrant from his wheelchair.

Joyce in Indianapolis: Is there any way you have any more scoop at all about new Glee episodes?
We just caught up with Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, and she told us this: "Santana's been wreaking havoc with people's boyfriends and people's babies and teachers—she's the high school terror, and she's going to continue to be the villain." As long as she steers clear of Puck, everything will be A-OK.

Monica in Portland, Ore.: How great is Vampire Diaries? I thought I would hate it, but I'm obsessed. Do you know what big things they're leading up to for the end of the season?
I can tell you that the writers actually aren't going to wait until the end of the season to open the tomb with all the vampires and Katherine in it, and you know that's gonna be good!

David in Fontana, Calif.: All anyone talks about anymore is the How I Met Your Mother 100th episode. What's coming up after that?
Well, since you asked, Neil Patrick Harris is actually heading behind the scenes to direct the 101st episode, which they just started filming this Monday. "I'm directing the episode, so it's going to be a long week for me," NPH told us the night before his big gig. "I'm in it and directing, so I get to yell at Jason Segel a lot: "No! Better! Faster! No! Funnier, be funnier, Jason!" Feel better, now?

Lola in Austin, Texas: I love Betty's makeover on Ugly Betty, but I'm still waiting for her to get her braces off. When will that happen?
According to Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Betty's orthodontist when he's not busy being awesome as Mitchell on Modern Family, it's probably going to happen sooner rather than later! He just tweeted, "In NYC. Here to check up on a certain patient I haven't seen in a few years."

Holly: How about some news on 90210? I'll take anything on Dixon...love him.
And apparently he loves to gamble. Or he will, soon. I'm also hearing we will meet Teddy's movie star father, Spence.

Anita in Houston: Has Thomas Gibson left Criminal Minds?
Nope! Despite Hotch's recent family tragedy, all parties involved assure us that Thomas Gibson is remaining with the show. (Too bad for you fans who expressed a hope that Haley's death opened the door to a major return by Mandy Patinkin's Gideon.) In other news, producers are now casting four regulars for a Criminal Minds spinoff; network sources aren't saying anything for sure, but chances are good that we'll meet the new team first in an episode of the mothership, and then they'll zoom off to their own world next season.

Patty in Nashville, Tenn.: Anything new to tell us about Chuck?
Just that two of our favorite Buy Moreians are shacking up. According to show runner Chris Fedak, "Ellie and Awesome moved out. They found an apartment across the way, and Chuck and Morgan are getting their bachelor pad." Whoo whoo!

Jason in Palm Springs, Calif.: Supernatural! So happy it's going into syndication.
Happy zombies! Sam and Dean find a town where everyone's loved ones come back to life as zombies but they're nice, friendly, non-brain-eating zombies...oh, and one of them is Bobby's dead wife.

Jamie in Rochester, N.Y.: This is a Supernatural question. I'm a Sam girl, and I was wondering if you had any scoop about him?
Even though Sam is supposed to be on the wagon with his powers, we will see him use them again before the end of Supernatural season five. (Dean's not gonna be happy about that!) In other Supernatural news, we'll be meeting another horseman of the apocalypse (Famine, this time, rather than War), and the Prophet Chuck will definitely be back, although probably not in the company of his Supernatural-fangirl girlfriend.

Megan: I hated the reveal of the killer on Melrose Place! It was so random and made no sense. Are we really to believe it was supposed to be Michael's wife all along? And why would we care when we've hardly seen her? Did Ashlee's exit change the plan or something?
Nope. According to my Melrose sources, "It was always the plan from day one that it would be Michael's wife." Anyone else think it was a letdown?

Belinda in Colorado: I love Modern Family so much! Any scoop?
Our hero Manny is going to have something of an off-week when he accidentally on purpose (thanks to Jay) sees his first horror film and doesn't cope so well with the notion of homicidal maniacs.

Sara in Denver: Got any good scoop on Make It or Break It? Specifically the hot coach Sasha...
Peri Gilpin kinda spilled to us that Payson Keeler's injury might not be holding her back for too long. (Yay!) In other news, we asked if the girls would be traveling overseas to any international competitions, and Candace Cameron Bure told us, "There's definitely travel in the show because the girls as a team and individually are getting press." Awww, the girls are going national! As for hot Sasha, we'll learn that his close ties to the gymnastics establishment have advantages for the girls...and some disadvantages, because not everybody is as in love with him as we are.

Allison in Cupertino, Calif.: 10 Things! 10 Things! Tell me more about 10 Things!
The new man in Kat's life is a good-looking kid known as Charles "Blank" Blankenship, and he's kind of like Kat's political, hypercapable doppelgänger. Think Bradley Whitford's Josh Lyman to Mary-Louise Parker's Amy Gardner from The West Wing.

Megan in New Haven, Conn.: I watched the last episode of White Collar, and it blew my mind! Is this as much of a game changer as it seems to be?
That last scene was great, but it's probably not the game changer the show wants you to think it is. If Peter really is evil, which we highly doubt in any case (the deal with Kate has to be for Neal's own good, right?), Neal's not going to know about it for a looong time, as Peter and Neal remain happy and devoted partners for many episodes to come.

Josie in Worcester, Mass.: The Good Wife has slowly turned into one of my favorite shows. What happens after the holidays?
Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) might really be getting out of the clink. In an upcoming episode, the sheriff comes by Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) house to inspect it for contraband and placement of an ankle-bracelet monitor. Peter being at home is going to cause all kinds of chaos!

Missy in Brewer, Maine: Any news on the next six episodes of Trauma?
Rumor has it that Rabbit gets in real trouble. We hear he's suspended and has to go to therapy to deal with his psychological issues before he's recertified.

Cara in Galion, Ohio: I really liked Men of a Certain Age. What's in store for the guys?
Sadly, Joe's (Ray Romano) gambling is going to get worse before it gets better. Look for that to be an arc throughout the whole first season. And Terry (Scott Bakula) will continue to teeter on the edge of being a working actor, with an assist from Annie (the ever-adorable Carla Gallo). How are you guys liking this show so far?
